MELODY ELISEO – KNOW YOUR ENEMY

I woke up at 5 this morning, with this on my mind. KNOW your enemy. What does he look like? What does he do? How does he do it? When is the most likely time he will do it? And I propped up on a few pillows in the dark, and dug in. Too many Christians, don’t want to know anything about the kingdom of darkness, just the kingdom of light. This is not right! Jesus spent much time warning us against, not knowing our enemy. Many Christians are not even interested in seeing a soul delivered from Satan!!! It spooks them out, and they excuse their distaste, by saying they don’t want to glorify Satan. Are you kidding me?? That’s his worst nightmare!!

The Bible says to put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. So hmm… if all your armor isn’t on, even a good Christian might not be able to stand against Satan’s strategies? Yeah, it looks like that is exactly what can happen.

We always say, Greater is He that is In me, than he that is in the world. But of course, “HOW MUCH of HIM” is in you, is the next question? Looks like 50% of the church didn’t keep enough oil to go in with the bridegroom, from the parable of the 10 virgins. Today the Lord woke me up and wanted me to remind us all, of just some of the enemies strategies.

His favorite strategy is to get Christians to believe he’s not around Christians, and as long as you don’t talk about him, or bother with him, you’ll be fine. His other fave, is to get non Christians to believe he doesn’t exist. He just wants you to think, “Hell” is a cuss word you should never say, rather than a place you should be reminding folks NOT to go to, daily.

So here we go, on a quick ride, in the word of God.

Satan is like a snare. Okay from that we can conclude he’s hidden, unexpected, and subtle. He can use scripture to trip you up, so you think God is speaking to you. A snare can cause a huge loss of a limb. And there is the possibility it can be deadly. After being caught in a snare we may feel we can’t trust anymore, because it came so unexpectedly. In a moment of pleasure. Drugs are a snare, fame is often a snare, believing you understand and can do things better than a Godly pastor is a snare, and the list goes on and on….

According to Psalms 91, Satan, is like a deadly pestilence (think 2020). We can conclude: Satan is often invisible at the point of contact, you can be having a great day but later on, you find out you have been infected by him unknowingly, and are spiritually, emotionally or physically sick because of the contact. (Ps. 91)

Satan is like a wolf who snatches up and scatters the sheep. These sheep aren’t with a pastor who is a true shepherd, they are with a hireling that runs away when the wolf comes. For sure Satan is doing that in the church today, in so many ways, it’s painful to read about. (John 10) Division, opinions, diversions and worst of all, there are shepherds whom the sheep trust, who hurt the sheep, instead of protect them. God forbid.

Satan can be like birds, who once the seed (the word of God) is sewn, come and eat up all of the seed. From this we can deduce that we can be a Christian hearing and reading the Word. But at some point in the day, or time, the enemy comes to us without us realizing it, and steals that precious seed that was sewn, and we are cheated out of the harvest, and the fruit we would have received. As well as, the blessing, the Word of God, would have brought forth in us. (Matt 13)

We know Satan has attributes of a roaring lion: The Bible says, Be sober in the spirit, be on the alert! For your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. For your reference it doesn’t say he is toothless, like so many people claim. He’s not toothless. Since he, and his dark kingdom, has brought down many a great Christian who was not strong enough on a given day, in the Holy Spirit. As a lion Satan is ruthless in looking for someone who feels alone, or someone weaker, younger or older. Someone he can separate from the others in their mind in order to terrorize, and destroy. To be sober is to be serious about this beast. To be on the alert means you are wide awake and aware of the constant danger.

He’s described as a swarm of locust. “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.” That means you have sewn a harvest, and you were counting on that harvest. The reward promised in the Bible. You did your part. But a swarm of locust came in so unexpectedly, and stole your harvest, so fast, with it’s massive swarm. Even 24 hours, can wreck a harvest. And you didn’t even have the time to do something about it. But you needed that harvest! It was a covenant harvest!!

And that’s just a few things today. I know, that you know the promises of God. But you need to be on the look out for anything that has these characteristics in the spirit, and stay FILLED with the Holy Spirit of God today. Put on the whole armor and be vigilant!!
